Messina Group is currently assisting our client on the north side of Chicago with their search for a Customer Service Representative. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a few years of experience who wants to advance into a management position down the road!

Position  Responsible for direct customer contact in all areas relating to inquiries, orders, order entry, pricing, scheduling, delivery dates, shipping information, and disposing of customer complaints and questions. Provides effective and quality customer service for all customers by utilizing knowledge of company products and services as well as team members within the Customer Service Department. All customer contact is by telephone, fax, or email. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers by phone, fax, or email concerning orders, returns, shipments and products, as well as, price, availability, and discount if eligible
  • Receive and enter phone, fax, and email orders
  • Follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates
  • Work with production, shipping, warehouse, or other personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments
  • Work with Accounting to resolve disputed credit items
  • Call customers when necessary to advise shipment’s delay and/or information necessary to process orders
  • Make changes to or cancel orders/back orders
  • Handle the initial return process with the customer by giving or denying approval
  • Handle disposition of returned goods
  • Initiate orders for replacement parts and/or correcting errors (shortages, wrong item shipped, etc.)
  • Initiate file maintenance for corrections to computer’s customer file
  • Handle irate customers in a professional manner
  • Prepare export shipment paperwork
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Details:
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire
