Messina Group seeks multiple Material Handlers for our client, a global polymer manufacturing company, in Carpentersville, Illinois. As a material handler, you will work your way up to a Chemical Operator and will be responsible for the safe and timely production of chemical products.

  • Competitive Pay – Pay Rates differ based on your experience and expertise. The base pay starts at $19.50/hr for entry-level operators. Experienced operators will be given competitive hourly pay rates based on their experience and expertise.

Material Handler Responsibilities:

  • Check equipment for unsafe unusual conditions and correct or report findings to supervision.
  • Complete batch prestaging, charging, filtration and transfers as required by supervision along with all associated paperwork.
  • Follow all site safety policies and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Perform drumming with all associated permits and paperwork as required.
  • Collect samples and ensure checks are done to maintain product quality regarding compatibility and cleanliness.
  • Prepare equipment and permits for maintenance work.
  • Follow up when permits are turned in to check out equipment and assure housekeeping is satisfactory.
  • Continuously focus on teamwork, communication, and doing your best to do a good job.
  • Participate in site LDAR program and work towards compliance.
  • Use all computer-based systems as required by job duties.
  • Complete annual safety and refresher training on schedule.
  • Perform other duties as designated by supervision.
