Messina Group seeks an entry-level Quality Assurance Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity for our client, a food manufacturing company in Long Grove, Illinois.

Responsibilities include promoting our client's strict food safety culture, maintaining food safety and quality plans and protocols, and ensuring that products meet and/or exceed company and customer regulatory expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

:

  • Promote our client's food safety culture throughout the organization,
  • Monitor product in production and packaging lines to ensure company and customer specifications are met.
  • Perform QA Audits of the production lines, conduct allergen changeovers, and perform cleaning verification.
  • Setup, verify, and calibrate metal detectors, electronic scales, and thermometers.
  • Inspect/release new or repaired equipment before food use.
  • Establish and implement critical controls that help monitor risk.
  • Commit to the continuous improvement of the food safety management system.
  • Establish and maintain documentation and communication between senior management and employees.
  • Follow and promote proper GMPs, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Report all food safety issues and or suspicious activity.
  • Act as the backup for the Lead QA Tech
  • Perform other duties as required

Other Details:

:

  • Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm (Semi-Flexible)
  • Overtime expectations: No overtime for the first 3 months. Occasional optional and/or required overtime needs after the initial 3-month period.
  • Report to: Director of Food Quality Assurance
  • Contract Conversion: Likely to convert to a direct-hire employee after 3 months
